For the first time in a very long time in his political career Blair is not making an arse of himself in public because of his foreign policies. Now he's doing it because of his
home policies. Sure it makes sense to identify problems in society but keeping young mums on benefit? I'm all for benefits, they are incredibly helpful. However they need to have practical help and advice for themselves and their children. Surely, they need to be giving encouragement to help these people to get on their feet and ultimately improve the lives of their children?

That is one of the most sinister things I have read for a long time - and this government makes a habit of doing sinister things!
Once again shades of Orwell's 1984 creep into Blairs policies - I wonder how long it will be before kids are being encouraged to imform on parents who think anti-Blair thoughts.
I suppose what's more worrying is I actually think he means well.
Yeah Spadger, I think he does. But it's like that old saying, the one about the road to hell being paved with good intentions.
To be honest he ought to take a long look at himself before he tells other people how to live or bring up their children. After all, his son was found drunk in a gutter at the age of 16! If one of mine did that they would be grounded till they were 47.
